The Tennessee Wildlife Federation’s “Hunters for the Hungry” program is a source of that much needed hope. TWF feeds Tennesseans by providing hunger relief organizations such as food banks and soup kitchens with venison donated by generous Tennessee deer hunters.
When hunters harvest a deer they can donate it to Hunters for the Hungry—in part or whole—at a participating processor. The deer is processed and the venison is delivered to hunger relief organizations in the area to be distributed to hungry families.
One deer provides as many as 168 servings of venison.
Since 1998 Hunters for the Hungry has provided more than 7.6 million servings of much needed protein to the hungriest Tennesseans through the generosity of Tennessee Hunters all while connecting both hunting and non-hunting communities.
How it works
Register
Register to receive your Whitetail Challenge Camera Entry (Camera, SD Card, and Antler Measuring Tape) officially confirming your eligibility. Challenge is limited to 2,500 entries. Entry fee cost is $200.
Measure
Using the Apex Camera or camera of your choice, record your hunting adventure capturing the hunter, hunting area, harvest scene, harvest recovery and the process of measuring the Harvested antlers.
Record
Utilize the provided Apex Antler Measuring Tape to calculate your antler Gross Score. Each measurement will be calculated as you go on your Apex Digital Score Form provided with official Challenge Entry.
Win
Upload your recorded footage and submit your Antler Gross Score. All qualifying Gross Scores for each State Whitetail Challenge are officially reviewed and finalized for Rewards at the end of the season.
